SNOUTS AND PAWS PROGRAM
Every sanctuary in the country is
busting at the seams with unwanted and abandoned pet pigs. Where once they were
the fad and only the wealthy could afford one, they are now being bred by the
thousands and sold for about $5.00 at every auction and flea market without
regard to who is buying. And it is not just adult pigs that are being dumped
and abandoned. Now babies are showing up also.
This program is designed to help keep a lot of these "throwaway" pet pigs in their current home, which will leave room for the neediest pigs to go to sanctuaries. But this program won't work without you and your help and commitment. Here are ways you can help:
Only you can make a difference and help to overcome the problem that is facing the pet pig. Most people don't care nor do they appreciate the love and bonding that takes place when you have a pet pig. Most won't support the program to help. It is just you and me who love and care about the pig that will come forward with a few dollars each month. You can save the life of a pig just for a price of a breakfast or lunch. Won't you consider signing up today to help? Click on one of the buttons below to make a convenient, monthly payment to the program! On behalf of the pigs, THANK YOU!

Project #2 Three baby feral pigs were dumped at the WCC in Fort Lauderdale. We found a home for them but they needed a large pen and shelter as funds were low. Update: Fencing and building supplies were ordered by PAPA and delivered and now all three piggies are safe and secure within their own pen in Palm City, FL.
Project #3
We received an email from a gal in Oh that
was asking for help with a neuter to keep a pig in its home in MI. We
contacted the veterinarian's office and made arrangements to help with $100.00
of the neutering bill since the pig was a cryptorchid and total cost was
$147.00. Clyde entered the hospital on June 7th and surgery was done on June
8th. He is recovering nicely and will remain in his home.
Project #4
We were contacted about a lady having wild ferals for pets but had never
neutered them and so had several litters. She agreed to have them neutered and
to keep them if we helped with the cost of neutering and helped to secure
fencing for them. Update:
Both older boars have now been neutered as of 6/28/04. Another donor paid to
have all the little baby boars neutered. As soon as funds become available the
fencing will be secured and she has agreed not to take any more in but to keep
the ones she already has.
Project #5
Madison lives in NY and is 7 years old and needed surgery. She was passing large
clots of blood. Her owner lived on a fixed income and couldn't afford the
surgery although she loved her very much. We found a vet but the bill jumped
from an estimate of $300+ to $1800.00 because when they did the spay, she had a
false pregnancy. Dr. Ackworth said she had everything but babies in both horns
plus a cyst on her ovaries. Actual surgery time to get everything out was 2 1/2
hrs. Today she is home and doing fine and is very much loved.
