RICHARD HOYLE

Richard is a former Major in the U.S. Marine Corps and recently retired with over 20 years as a Lieutenant in the Fire Service and over 20 years as a Paramedic in northern Virginia. He attended The Citadel and has a master's degree in management from The Naval Postgraduate School. Richard and his wife Laura have been rescuing pigs for over 18 years. He was the Director of Mini-Pigs, Inc., a well-known pig sanctuary in Virginia for many years. Richard is also a former vice president and member of the board of the American Sanctuary Association. Richard and Laura are currently residing in Tennessee where they are building The Pig Preserve, a 100-acre facility where rescued pigs of all sizes can live their lives in a safe, natural environment. When completed, The Pig Preserve will hopefully provide a home for around 400 rescued pigs.
